Why is a graph helpful when trying to share information discussion help

  1. Why is a graph helpful when trying to share information? What information can more easily be conveyed with a graph as opposed to a written summary?
  2. A histogram is drawn by breaking up the data in groups along the bottom of the graph called classes. (Refer to example 7 on page 490 of your textbook.) Why would you NOT want to have the classes overlap? In other words, what would happen if you had two subsequent classes of 82–85 and 85–87 instead of 82–84 and 85–87?
